Good morning children of God! I pray that ALL is well concerning your hearts, health, faith, temperance, and relationships in the name of Jesus! As I was interceding this morning, with another powerful woman of God, the Holy Ghost led me to pray on love. I kept repeating, “Lord show us how to love in action, show us how to love in action, show US how to love in action”! God begin to minister to me and show me that we cannot have inward hate, yet outward love for our brothers/sisters/strangers/church family/co-workers and etc. We MUST love in action and on purpose. Please allow your hearts to follow along with the word God has given us this morning.
Loving in action simply means that we don’t merely give mouth service in saying “I love you”…rather abiding in the wonderful cliché, “Action speaks louder than words”. We have been made in the IMAGE of GOD, which means that how God displays himself (in UNCONDITIONAL love, forgiveness, caring/compassionate heart, giver, wise and etc.) we must also replicate his characteristics. I have been guilty of saying “I love you” and when I was tested, I can’t say that my actions showed my spoken declaration. You see, love is not a ‘feeling’- that’s the world’s view of love. Love is intentional, purposeful, active, giving, hard-work, a testing of our hearts, full of long-suffering, patient, and kind (you know the scripture). It’s not a goo goo feeling you experience in your gut aka ‘butterflies’. Love is what keeps families together during strife/disagreements/death/lack. Love is what allows parents to forgive and forgive and forgive some more concerning their disobedient children. Love is what endures and glues a marriage together when someone has stepped out and committed adultery. Love is what pursues a friend that is living a self-destructive life! Love is intentional…it’s an action.
Love is not always going to be convenient and replicated. We as children of God must remember this bible verse from Matthew 5:44, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, “. Yes, you read that correctly. We must love those who plot our demise, tamper into our business, spread lies about us, physically or emotionally bruise us, gossips about us, abandons/rejects us, and who even hurt our children. You’re probably asking right about now, “Well, how do I LOVE my enemies in action”? It’s all in the small things such as: Saying hi and greeting them with a smile (stop avoiding/running from them, unless your life is in danger of course), if feasible, tell them that you forgive them even when they haven’t asked for forgiveness, treat them to lunch, and last but definitely not least, PRAY FOR THEM! These types of acts are your LOVE WITH FEET, MOVING IN ACTION! You can do it, otherwise, God wouldn’t have told us to do so; He doesn’t set us up to fail. I love you, but God loves you the most! Now go in peace.
Scripture meditation for today: 1st John 4: 20- Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
